WIN R&B Anthems 1979 - 2009

Posted by Lady V

Hold up, a competition I hear? On the Block? Why yes, let's extend our givings beyond written ramblings and exclusive news, we wanna give you something you can hold...not the type we'd suggest to fall asleep clutching but the tunes on this bad-boy might also help you find some-one to snuggle up with. WOW, technically, we're giving A LOT!

So this week, 'R&B Anthems 1979 - 2009' was released in the UK, and it's about time we had a compilation that provided tunes that go back to the beginning of R&B (kinda!) when Disco met Soul, not just the 90s American stuff that most of us got excited about in our early teens. We've got 5 copies, (yup, let's brighten up 5 of your lives!) of this brand new 3 CD compilation jam-packed with sexy smooth tunes which you just won't be able to help yourself but croon along to;

CD1 starts with a round up of the best of the current crop of R&B from early 00s to present day, including hits from Gnarls Barkley, Chipmunk, Justin Timberlake, Outcast, Alicia Keys and Estelle.

CD2 continues the journey into the radio and dancefloor smashes of the 90s with Whitney Houston, R Kelly, Coolio, The Fugees before embarking on a foray into the soon to be historic oos with Missy Elliott, Sugababes, Craig David and more.

CD3 begins its journey at the marriage of disco and soul in 1979 including before moving through the 80s Soul ofRose Royce, Sister Sledge, Luther Vandross and Prince, and on into the early 90s with Vanilla Ice and Fresh Prince.

The tunes selected truly are anthems - only the best of your faves!

For your chance to cop a copy of R&B Anthems 1979 - 2009, all you got to do is answer the following question:

What does R&B stand for?
a) Rhythm & Blues
b) Rhythm & Bass
c) Rhythm & Breaks

Email your answer along with your name, number and address to theworldismyblock@gmail.com ASAP as you don't want to miss out on this one! 5 winners will be selected at random and notified on Monday 16th November!

This competition is opened only to UK blockers.
